We had a three night break here and absolutely loved it. Paul and Jane are warm and friendly hosts, the room was spotless and comfortable with extra touches, including a double rainbow seen from the bedroom (Kentmere) which looks over to the distant hills! Don’t miss out on breakfasts here as they are very tasty, and use local produce. All in all, wonderful, and we hope to return. Thank you Jane and Paul.- Christine A
The cottage is conveniently located near Windermere and Bowness. The cottage is clean and has a warm friendly atmosphere.Breakfast is made from scratch and is hearty and delicious.I highly recommend this place.- Tracia O
Montford is the perfect Guest House if you are planning to visit Windermere.Jane and Paul are incredibly welcoming and helpful, giving us tips to move around Windermere and whereabouts. The room was cozy and warm, the breakfasts were always excellent, with various menus you can choose from, and the communication with the host was prompt and efficient.The property is located very conveniently if, like us, you didn't have your car and decided to walk and use the amazing boats services to explore the area. The cottage sits exactly between Windermere and Bowness, so it is a short walk from the train station, and an even shorter walk to various lovely view points, nature paths and Bowness city and piers.In addition to this, Jane and Paul will make sure to go the extra mile to advice and help you during your stay: they even packed us a breakfast as we had to catch an early train back home, and didn't have the time to sit and eat on our last day!We are definetely planning to visit back and we will make sure to book Montfort Cottage again!- Leonardo S
