Montfort Cottage Guest House is a lovely, compact and bijou Visit Britain accredited 4* rated guest house. A 19th century Lakeland stone terrace cottage, it is ideal as a romantic getaway for couples looking for comfortable and affordable accommodation in Windermere, the heart of the English Lake District.

The guest house is personally run by its owner, Leigh Giles, and is the perfect accommodation base from which to explore the stunning scenery and natural beauty of the Lake District.

Situated in a quiet residential area close to Baddeley Clock Tower, the midway point between Windermere and Bowness, Montfort Cottage is just a 10 minute walk from either village and their abundance of shops, restaurants and traditional pubs,  and a short distance from Lake Windermere itself.

Rooms at Montfort Cottage are available to reserve on either a Room Only or Bed & Breakfast basis, giving guests a choice of tariff to suit their requirements, with prices starting from just £22.50 per person per night. See our Tariff page for details of how to reserve your room.  

Guests of Montfort Cottage are also entitled to membership of Parklands Country Club in Bowness during their stay, so don't forget to bring your swimming costume and a towel! Facilities offered include the use of the gym, swimming pool, spa bath, squash court, steam bath and sauna.
